Hey everyone! So, I've been wanting to share this with you all for a while now, because, honestly, who doesn't love a good tea party? Especially one that feels like you've stepped into a dreamy countryside scene! Today, I'm going to spill the tea on how to host an elegant countryside style tea party with your friends.

Setting the Scene: Countryside Chic

First things first, let's talk about the vibe. We're going for relaxed elegance, think rolling hills, wildflower bouquets, and a touch of vintage charm.

  • Location, Location, Location: If you've got a backyard or garden, that's perfect! But even a balcony or a cozy corner in your living room can work wonders. Just bring in those countryside elements!

  • Floral Frenzy: Grab some mason jars, glass or vintage vases and fill them with fresh flowers. Sunflowers, daisies, chamomile flowers, roses, and hydrangeas are great choices. Think of it as bringing the garden inside (or enhancing the garden if you're outside!).

  • Comfy and Cozy: Don't forget about comfort! Throw some cushions and blankets around for a relaxed feel. If the sun's strong, maybe set up a canopy or some umbrellas for shade.

Teaware: Vintage Vibes

Now, let's get to the tea! And of course, the teaware is a big part of the aesthetic.

  • Floral Fancy: Pull out those floral patterned plates and teacups! Vintage-style china or even mixing and matching patterns can look super cute. We used a intricate blue floral design teaware bought at HomeGoods. Also used an elegant white teapot and a daisy cake stand for added color and charm.

  • Natural Touches: Add some natural elements like woven placemats or wooden trays. It's all about bringing the outdoors in.

  • Little Details: A small bud vase with a single flower at each place setting? Yes, please! And maybe some glassware with pretty patterns or keep it classic with a clear champagne or sparkling wine glass. You can't forget the flatware. A nice set of silver flatware also adds to the classic charm of a countryside tea party.

Tasty Treats: Countryside Flavors

What's a tea party without delicious food? Here's what I love to serve.

  • Tea Sandwiches: Classic cucumber, tomato and basil, smoked salmon—keep it simple and fresh. You can even cut them into cute shapes with cookie cutters.

  • Scones and Sweets: Warm scones with clotted cream and jam are a must! And don't forget some fruit tarts, lemon bars, or maybe a light pavlova.

  • Refreshing Drinks: If it's warm, iced teas are perfect. Herbal, black, green—offer a variety. And maybe some lemonade or fruit-infused water too.

  • Fresh Fruits: A platter of berries, watermelon, and other seasonal fruits is always a hit. It's healthy and adds a pop of color!

Making it Extra Special

It's all in the little details, right? Here are a few extras to make your tea party unforgettable.

  • Pretty Invites: Design invitations with floral, ribbon patterns or butterflies—something that sets the tone right from the start.

  • Sweet Favors: Send your friends home with a little something, like miniature potted plants or a bag of tea.

  • Fun Activities: How about some lawn games like croquet, card games or maybe a simple craft like flower painting?

  • Magical Lighting: If your party goes into the evening, string lights or lanterns can make it feel absolutely magical.

Hosting a countryside tea party is all about enjoying good company and the beauty of nature. So, relax, have fun, and make some lovely memories with your friends!
