Hello Kitty, who recently celebrated her 50th anniversary, is an iconic Sanrio character loved by both young kids and adults. So when our friend’s milestone birthday was coming up this year, it was a no-brainer to host a tea party with a Hello Kitty theme. Our birthday girl is and will forever be one of Hello Kitty’s biggest fans. The tea party had to be cute with lots of class and lots of pink.

If you want to host a Hello Kitty Tea Party for a birthday or bachelorette party, take a look at our photos and links for products that made our themed tea party fun and memorable.

Tableware

The color palette for the tableware was white and gold. Touches of pink and red were added with Hello Kitty decor sprinkled throughout the table. Here’s a quick checklist of the tableware you need to host the tea party part of the theme. It’ll help so you don't get distracted with how cute everything looks. LOL

You can buy plates, teacups & saucers, cocktail glasses from places like Amazon or your local HomeGoods. The adorable Hello Kitty three-tier stand was bought at Pottery Barn Teen. Other three-tier stands used for the tea party were from stores like Crate and Barrel.

Hello Kitty & Table Decor

Since Hello Kitty has become so popular, products are highly sought-after. The 50th anniversary Hello Kitty Funko figurines were tucked in the three tier stands as playful decoration. Surprisingly, Jim Shore also has a Hello Kitty collection, which we love!! We bought two figures from his collection to match our theme. Every cup was decorated with a Hello Kitty bow and pink heart-shaped glasses. Most of the decorations were found  either on the Funko or Amazon websites.

Floral Centerpieces
We got creative and used Hello Kitty mugs as flower pots. Also found a large Hello Kitty planter that we used as a vase at Pottery Barn Teen.

By marrying both the English Afternoon Tea tradition with a Hello Kitty theme, our tea party was pure joy and fun. No matter the occasion, a Hello Kitty themed tea party can also be adapted to a bachelorette party, a kid’s party, or a party that gets your besties together to talk about the latest tea.

Cheers!
