October is upon us! It means scary pumpkins, ghosts, cozy sweaters, and... the perfect excuse to plan gatherings with friends. We can create our own kind of Halloween magic. Get together with your bestie or favorite person that shares the same joy for this holiday. With a little creativity, you can transform your dining table into a small haunted wonderland without breaking the bank and with minimal time to decorate.

Set the Spooky & Stylish Table

  • Choose a dark and moody color scheme. You can choose from the classic Halloween color palette: black, white, purple, and orange.

  • Next, throw in some Halloween decorations to style your table. Mini pumpkins, bats, spiderwebs, cauldrons, and witches' hats are all good ideas. I found a gold spider cake stand at HomeGoods. Not only does it fit the Halloween vibe, it's perfect for displaying your delightful baked treats!

  • Add some small scale special effects like a bubbling cauldron. Dry ice can help create a bubbling effect like smoke spilling out from the cauldron.

Tip: Handle dry ice carefully with gloves, never with your bare skin. Use lukewarm water from the sink and pour over the dry ice to get the bubbling/smoke effect you want. I also recommend doing some additional research on best practices to handle dry ice.

  • I found black dessert plates that complimented a set of scalloped, white teacups. And then, I paired them with a Halloween teapot with witches and ravens designs on it!

  • You can also opt to go with all black teaware like the set I bought from Grace Teaware for a Halloween Tea for Two with my mom.

  • To complete the Halloween vibe, you'll find a bigger selection of fun and spooky table linens during this season. I found some fun bat-designed Halloween napkins that fit the ambiance perfectly. For budget-friendly choices, HomeGoods is my go-to. I always feel like I'm in a magical place when I visit; they have awesome seasonal tableware and decorations at great prices.

Create a Spooky Tea Menu

  • You'll want to have some Halloweeny teas on hand, like "Apple Cider" or "Pumpkin Spice." I went with Organic Hibiscus Tea for my "Witches Brew". It’s got this awesome bold, citrusy flavor and a super vibrant ruby red color. Just fill the kettle with fresh, filtered water and bring it to a boil. Let the tea steep for 5 to 7 minutes. It's a great caffeine-free option if you're not into traditional tea or coffee, and it really delivers on both flavor and color!

  • In a recent blog post, I mentioned ordering Halloween tea from the Tea Can Company. Between my mom and I, we both enjoyed a sweet cup of their Witches Brew, Vanilla Rose Oolong tea. It was a perfect compliment to the loaf of fig bread I made that day.

  • Serve up some spooky snacks, like Halloween scones, cookies, cakes, or chocolate. Pinterest is a good starting place for Halloween/Fall dessert recipes. Since I had fresh figs on hand, I found an easy fig bread recipe by Spice and Bloom.

  • Smaller dessert treats like Bonne Maman's Raspberry and Chocolate Tartlets are also perfect for a tea party for two.

Enjoy the Witches Brew with Your Favorite Witch or Warlock

  • Invite your bestie or favorite person to join you for a Halloween-themed tea party.

  • Cast some spells with your friends or family and have a magical time together!

Halloween is a loved holiday that is great for gathering with friends and enjoying the spooky season together. You can expand your Tea for Two to a bigger Boo Crew, too! Thinking this might be perfect for someone you love? Share this post!
